Not a typical day

Early morning with Jane, before anyone else is up:

getting dressed...

Helping make Papa's lunch... (then she gets to eat a few raisins, one of her favorite things!)

Helping load the washing machine...

Then on to breakfast! We had a "new fruit" this morning (we've been investigating the world of fruit, and expanding our taste for it.) It was honeydew this time, and all but Lucy partook of it. See why as this blog post continues...

Why so many pictures of Jane, you may ask? I think it's because she and I stick like glue. And because she brushes her teeth in the downstairs bathroom, to avoid upstairs sink squabbles with the older kids.

Here's Lucy! She got dressed for gymnastics today, and then we did hair.

Gene wrote a letter (to who, I don't know...usually he asks for some sort of help, but today he was all on his own) and then rewarded himself by playing baseball on the Wii.

Jane polished her piano playing, and in this picture looks like a child protege. In reality, she was plucking a tune and singing along with herself, probably in English.

Potty break...

Washing animals...

Washing herself...

This is what happened to Lucy, and the reason she didn't even try the honeydew, or eat much of her breakfast. She started yawning and was really mopey shortly after breakfast, and went upstairs for a very rare nap. It lasted 3 hours! And she woke up with a raging fever, spending the rest of the day on the couch.

Jane naps in our room, for anyone who wants to see a picture of it...

Gene spent most of the day outside, playing baseball (that season officially began last weekend, and he immediately switched from basketball). But then he wrote an email to the Mitzels (his first email!) informing them of his own baseball schedule.

To wrap it up, but without more pictures, we have a new member of our family, thanks to Grandpa Ken. I'm sure I'll take pictures tomorrow, so we'll leave it in suspense for now!
